The district of Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis is a very active business region characterised by small to medium-sized companies, and this is the reason why RBW was among the first corporations of its kind in North Rhine-Westphalia when it was founded in the year 1992.
This corporation considers itself a partner of both business and local communities, and markets the Rhein-Berg district even beyond its boundaries.
Its services cover consulting for start-ups, industrial estate services, care for existing companies and strategic support, competence development, local site marketing in addition to safeguarding the existence of companies and helping with business succession planning.
RBW's shareholders include the district of Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis, the towns of Bergisch Gladbach, Burscheid, Leichlingen, Overath, Rösrath and Wermelskirchen, the Kürten and Odenthal municipalities, the Cologne district savings bank, the Wermelskirchen town savings bank as well as co-operative and rural credit banks. The district is holding 51 % of the corporation's shares.
The general manager of RBW is Dr. Erik Werdel.
